Haynes International recently announced the development of two new alloys: Hastelloy WR-66 and Haynes 292.
- Haynes said they engineered Hastelloy WR-66 for the combination of sliding wear resistance and corrosion resistance in aqueous environments. It is slated to be offered primarily for chemical processing and petrochemical applications.
- Haynes 292 is designed for high-temperature performance, claiming improvements over established alloys like Waspaloy. It is targeted for aerospace and power generation applications.
Acerinox appears to be making good on the synergy potential of the Haynes acquisition, combining Acerinox’s alloy development capability with Haynes’ deep experience in nickel and cobalt-based alloys.
